Daily Devotional- She had no children and was barren
Today’s reading is going to be Luke 1:36-37.
Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.”

Elizabeth was barren
A little backstory is that Elizabeth she was barren, and not only barren, but well advanced in years. Sometimes we may choose to look at a situation and say, I’m too old to have a child. I’m too old to be in ministry now. I’m too old. But these scriptures tell us just the opposite. Elizabeth, even though she was well advanced in years, as was her husband, had a child. And this wasn’t just any child that she was pregnant with. This was John the Baptist, the one who would soon prepare the way for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Earlier in these scriptures, we see that Elizabeth’s husband Zacharias was told that his prayer was heard. However, he questioned the angel Gabriel because of his age and because of the age of his wife. Because of this, Zacharias was mute and not able to speak until the day these things took place. The angel told him it was because he did not believe his words which would be fulfilled in their own time. This is a good reminder that shows us that no matter how long things seem to be taking or how improbable a situation looks and seems that God has His own timing, and the way that things look and seem have no say in the outcome. Only God has the final say. So my question to you is this. Will you believe in what looks to be impossible? Whatever you are hoping for, will you choose to believe? Remember, God is not restricted by age or circumstances. He is God, and with God, nothing will be impossible. And for those of you hoping for something, I have this message for you. Just as God heard Zacharias’s prayer, He hears yours, too. Your prayer is heard.
